Tornado

In my dream last night, there was a tornado. My dreams tend to have identical themes that connect them, such as water--1 out of 3 dreams will have water in some form, river or ocean usually. But last night's dream had a tornado, a first time occurrence for me.

I was crouching on a couch when the twister was coming through, whipping up debris in its path, the home I was in had no walls, just a couch and a large cushion which I used as a shield. The tornado went by once and then a second time. Oddly, I was safe under the cushion.

From Dream Moods Dictionary, a tornado is said to signify emotional outbursts, tempers, feeling overwhelmed and out of control, also destructive relationships.

Similarly, I recently dreamed about having to wade through mucky water in order to hang a poster on a freestanding building. This interpretation seems eerily similar to a tornado:

To see muddy or dirty water in your dream, indicates that you are wallowing in your negative emotions. You may need to devote some time to clarify your mind and find internal peace. Alternatively, it suggests that your thinking/judgment is unclear and clouded. If you are immersed in muddy water, then it indicates that you are in over your head in a situation and are overwhelmed by your emotions.

So, let's just say my emotions have the best of me lately, and that statement is far from untrue--especially astrologically...

Transiting Uranus is conjuncting my Sun and Mars for awhile, which also means he's trining my Moon. Sometimes I forget to look at what other aspects are being activated, and that isn't the only one. The Neptune/Jupiter/Chiron conjunction which is sitting on my natal Mercury is also inconjuncting my Moon. Quadruple whammy? Talk about an emotional roller coaster.

My poor little Moon. Always geting picked on...

On the plus side, Mercury goes direct. Something's gotta give, right?

Dreams coming back to me

How weird that I talk to Kat about her dream and how I miss my dream journal and then this weekend, I have not just one night, but two nights of dreams I remember!
Even more interesting, I go to Elsa's blog this morning and discover that the Moon just entered Pisces (maybe late yesterday or past midnight today?). I'm having trouble remembering last night's dreams right now, but I wrote them down this morning, so I can come back and talk about them later.

Saturday night the Moon was in Aquarius, probably conjuncting my Mercury (at 28 degrees) when I had a dream about having to swim through mucky water to hang some large object on a building which was alone, freestanding in the muck. I recall being in a diving suit, preparing to descend the ladder in the the water, when someone stood over me and told me I better not go in there without some kind of footwear--who knows what could be in that water to step on!
We then went to a hardware store (where else can you find footwear in a dream?) to search for swimming footwear, but came out empty handed. I did mysteriously arrive back on the ladder wearing swimming shoes and swimming out to the building to hang the object. Weird. Dreams are just weird.

Anyhow, I hope that my dreams continue and that this isn't just a freak Moon positioning to amp up my sleeping life...

Drugs and the Moon

I started taking Melatonin last week to help with my sleeping issues. I have been taking just the OTC CVS brand sleep aids, but I decided I would switch it up this time and try melatonin instead.
I had some interesting dreams the very first night I took it, but they were so fast paced and I woke up a few times during the night that I forgot all of them by the time I woke up anyhow. I have vague memories of games and the attic, but nothing too specific. I miss have a nightstand where I can put my things and write my dreams down as soon as I wake up.

Anyhow, I write this because I try to follow my dreams and patterns. It's been a long time since I have really been able to remember my dreams, even though I know my dreams are much more active during full moons. I'm curious to see how my switch to melatonin will change things and add a new dimension to the dream world. The sleep-aids I was previously taking leaned more toward suppression of dream recall. But after the very first time taking melatonin, I awoke with strong dream images left over from the night. We'll see how this little experiment goes...
